Power Outages, Ice & Snow Storms
This winter has been a special challenge for most of us! We lost power in our office for more than two (2) days and have had other closures due to snow & ice storms. As a result, we have a temporary moratorium for adding new clients. It is very important to us that we provide our high level of service to our current clients. To ensure this continues, we will place any potential clients on our wait list for now.
When our current clients have service and/or billing address changes, the time needed to make and verify these changes with each of the insurers is considerable. However, our commitment to our current clients remains. Our weather challenges have been complicated by multiple address changes, billing changes and such for our current clients.
We hope to be able to lift our moratorium in a few weeks. Please stay tuned!
Electronic Contracts – New Process
Several of the insurers (Aetna, CIGNA, United, etc.) are using electronic contracts in lieu of paper contracts. We complete these contracts for our clients because it is crucial that the practice information be exact for your billings. It is also critical that you ensure the contract is for the correct products/ plans (some of our clients have inadvertently e-signed contracts for Medicaid products when they don’t want to be participating with the Medicaid products).
From our last newsletter, we instituted a new process where we let our clients know when we have the e-contracts & ask that the physician call our office. While on the phone, we work with the physician to complete the e-contracts. This process is proving to be MUCH less time-consuming for our client physicians & is resulting in better outcomes. Please be sure to have the physician contact us when we notify you of our receipt of the e-contracts.
